Alicia Schwartz, Matt Koehler, Jon Royer, Jason Long, and William Picciano were selected as members of the 2003 NBC All-Star jazz Ensemble held November 3, 2003. John Dankworth of England was the guest artist and director. The event was held at Minerva High School. |

The University of Akron Ohio Band Director's Conference Honors Wind Ensemble
Matt Koehler, Amanda Koontz, Jason Long, and Alicia Schwartz were selected by audition for The University of Akron's 32nd Annual Ohio Band Director's Conference Honors Band held December 6, 2003. Gary E. Smith, the 1976 to 1998 Associate Director of Bands at the University of Illinois, was the guest conductor. |
| LHS Band Students in Kent State University Honors Wind Ensemble
LHS Band Students selected for Kent State University Honors Band on January 17th, 2004 were Amanda Koontz, Alicia Schwartz, Justin Kuhn, Ryan Tomsello, and Ben Stover. Students from both Ohio and Pennsylvania were selected through taped audition. The students were on campus for rehearsals all day Friday and Saturday and performed a joint concert Saturday night with the Kent State University Wind Ensemble. The Kent State Honor Band was under the direction of Dr. Wayne Gorder.
