THE
LOUISVILLE BAND BOOSTER BY-LAWS
Article1 Name
The name of this organization shall be the Louisville Band Boosters.
Article 2 Object
Section1. To create and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the various
phases of instrumental music in the Louisville School.
Section 2. To lend all possible support, both moral and financial to the
instrumental music program.
Section 3. to cooperate with the administration, school board, and the
band director(s) to the end that this department be brought to and kept
at the highest possible degree of efficiency.
Section 4. To build and maintain an organization which will help promote
the general activities of the instrumental department.
Article 3 Membership
Section 1. The membership of this organization is not limited. Anyone
interested in the progress and development of the instrumental department
of Louisville Schools are considered active members.
Section 2. Voting privileges in the Louisville Band boosters are restricted
to anyone 18 years of age or over.
Article 4 Officers and the Elections
Section 1. The officers of this organization shall be: President, Vice-President,
Secretary, Treasure, and the band directors of the instrumental music
department of Louisville Schools.
Section 2. Officers are to be elected at the regular meeting in May and
shall take office in June after the band festival.
Section 3. No officer shall serve the same office for more than two consecutive
years.
Section 4. A majority vote of members present shall constitute an election.
Article 5 Duties of Officers
Section 1. The President shall preside at all meetings of this organization
, appoint all standing committees and be an ex-officio member of all committees.
Section 2. The Vice-President shall assume all duties of the President
in his/her absence.
Section 3. The Secretary shall keep records and minutes of all meetings
and attend to the correspondence, including Executive meetings.
Section 4. Treasurer
A. The treasurer shall receive and deposit al funds of this organization
and shall make all payments and disbursements by check signed by any two
of the officers in case of emergency, to be normally signed by the President
and Treasurer, or in case of absence of either or both, any two may sign
being President, Vice-President, Secretary.
B. The Treasures books shall be audited in July following the receipts
of the festival and a report made at the regular August meeting.
Article 6 The Executive Committee
Section 1 The Excessive Committee shall be composed of the officers of
this organization and the past President.
Section 2. The Executive Committee shall have general supervision over
the affairs of this organization.
Section 3. The Band director(s) shall have supervision over the affairs
of the Executive Committee.
Section 4. The Executive committee shall not approve any expenditure over
$100.00 without the approval of the general membership.
Article 7 Meetings.
Section 1. The regular meeting of this organization shall be held the
first Tuesday of each month beginning in August with the final meeting
of the year in June.
Section 2. Special meetings may be called by the President.
Section 3. Five of more members shall constitute a quorum.
Article 8 Standing Committees
Section 1. Standing committees shall be appointed by the President before
the June meeting. the Committees and their duties being:
a. Membership Committee.
They shall head the annual booster drive, and attempt to maintain a full
membership of parents and acquaint the parents with the objectives, constitution,
by-laws and goals.
b. Advertising and Publicity Committee
They shall see that the activities of the club and band receive proper
coverage in local newspapers, television stations, and radio stations.
c. Hospitality Committee
They shall arrange refreshments as needed for the band and club. They
shall greet and introduce new people.
d. Calling Committee
They shall be responsible for all calling for the band booster organization.
e. Uniform Committee
They shall keep uniforms organized, keep records, fir, collect, and oversee
repair and cleaning.
f. Audio-Visual Committee
They shall be responsible for taking video recordings and pictures activities.
g. Fruit Sale Committee
They shall head the annual Fruit Sale.
h. Banquet Committee
They shall head up the annual awards banquet.
i. Dinner Committee
They shall organize all dinners during the year.
j. Constitution Band Competition
They shall organize parking, ticket sales, programs, and obtain prize
money and trophies.
k. Constitution competition Food Committee
They shall organize the concession stand for the
l. Constitution Competition.
They shall organize the Variety Show/Gong Show; Magic Show, etc.
Article 9 Funds
All Band Booster funds, including the Annual Band Parents Festival Funds,
shall be deposited in the Band Booster Band Accounts.
Article 10 Parliamentary Authority
Roberts Rules of Order, revised shall govern this organization where
applicable and in which they do not conflict with the by-laws of this
organization.
Article 11 Amendments
The by-laws may be amended by a majority vote of the members present at
any regular meeting. The amendments must have been presented at the preceding
meeting of this organization.
